Honorary ambassador for Hallyu Expo 2006 Jeju.

We would like to notify about the Hallyu Exposition event which selected Bae Yong Joon and
Lee Young Ae as honorary promotion ambassadors.

The event will be held under title “Hallyu Expo 2006 Jeju” organized by Hallyu Expo, Inc. from
28 July, 2006 to 10 March, 2007 in the largest scale so far in Korea.

This exposition event will allow you to overview the flow of Hallyu from the beginning to the
present. In addition, a brand-new IT system will create a multi-media exposition in the
state of art. The event is expected to promote the Asian culture exchange and preview the
future of Hallyu, the Korean wave.

However, there is no tour package program related to the Hally Expo so far. When an official
tour company is decided or any official tour package program is prepared,

[Korea] Bae Yong-jun Appointed 2010-2012 Promotional Ambassador.

 Actor Bae Yong-jun was appointed new Promotional Ambassador of Korea Tourism on October 14th at the 35th Tourism Day Commemorative Ceremony and Year of Korea Tourism event that took place at the Seoul Lotte Hotel.
There were a total of over 800 guests in attendance along with Bae Yong-jun, with key figures including First Lady Kim Yun-ok, the Minister Yu In-chon of Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, the Year of Korea Tourism Chairman Park Sam-gu, and previous Promotional Ambassador of 2006-2008, actor Ryu Si-won.

To add to the celebration, organizers have added “Year of Korea Tourism” to the banner in order to spread knowledge of Korean culture to the world. The ‘Year of Korea Tourism’ is a national tourism promotion project that will last until the year 2012, making this the third official installment.


The 2010-2012 ‘Year of Korea Tourism’ will be led by Hallyu Star Bae Yong-jun as the Promotional Ambassador. Furthermore, actor Ryu Si-won, who had preceded Bae Yong-jun as the Promotional Ambassador of Korea Tourism from 2006 to 2008, was also handed a Presidential Citation at the event for his work during the three years.
After the event, Bae Yong-jun told the audience, “I feel that a lot of responsibility has been trusted in me as the Promotional Ambassador. I will do my very best to do my part in spreading the word of Korea’s beautiful charms and tastes.” As the new Promotional Ambassador of Korea Tourism in the three-year period following Ryu Si-won, Bae Yong-jun will be overcoming the boundaries of Asia and will be working to promote Korea tourism to the entire world from 2010 to 2012. During the three years, Bae Yong-jun will be planning to attract over 10 million foreign tourists to Korea while internationalizing the Korea tourism brand.
